As homeowners begin to take stock of their living environment after the events of the last couple of years, there is an obvious trend and desire to get back to nature. The calming influence of nature-inspired design has paved the way for warm, green and earthy tones to take precedence in 2022.
Rachel Moriarty Interiors, contributed to the findings of Fixr.com’s latest Paint and Color 2022 trends report by participating in a survey along with fellow leading experts in the interior design industry. By combining their knowledge and expertise on the latest trends, homeowners and designers get an insight into how to get the best out of home design, and the top ways to stay on-trend going forward.
Some of the key findings from the report are:
Sage green is the top choice for both living rooms and bedrooms
Warm neutrals, earthy colors, and neutrals with pops of bold colors are the top interior palettes.
White and off-white are the best colors for interiors and exteriors when selling a home.
Black is the top color for front doors.

These results were compiled from a survey completed by 64 experts in the interior design industry. Each survey participant was selected for their influential role in the interior design industry, based on their experience, social media influence, and notable projects.
These experts were given a series of multiple-choice and open-ended questions covering a variety of design-related topics. For some multiple-choice questions, respondents were able to choose multiple options.
