PROJECT REVEAL: OCEAN VIEW TERRACE JUST IN TIME FOR HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING

In many regions, Thanksgiving means gathering with friends and family indoors with a roaring fire. In San Diego, it can mean quite the opposite, our fall weather is very mild and temperate and if you own a beach house with a small footprint then hosting the holidays al fresco is the way to go! Since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, here are some tips on how to host Thanksgiving outdoors.

FLEXIBLE SEATING

Holiday gatherings call for multiple seating arrangements, for guests big and small, so everyone can comfortably sit down and enjoy dinner as well as converse or lounge. Modular seating covered in a variety of Sunbrella fabrics provide all of the versatility you need. This allows you to create different configurations and they're even light enough to move indoors if needed. Make your guests more comfortable with by adding large baskets with additional throw blankets, for that cool ocean breeze.

FIRE PITS + PORTABLE HEATERS

There will be a chill in the air after the sun sets so a fire pit is a must. I also love this lantern by Twin Star Home. It's not only adorable but puts out heat and the candle acts as a light source.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

This home has very large ocean view terrace so I added several different zones for conversation, dining and lounging (after the triptafen kicks in)

DRESS THE TABLE

Pull out the good stuff even for al fresco dining, a fresh floral arrangement in autumnal colors is a must.

MIX AND MATCH

I love a table that has a variety of dinnerware. For this setting, I used modern blue, vintage wood, flea market glasses and Sunbrella textiles.

There are games you play—and then there are games that stay with you. For me, Slope Game was more than just a way to pass time; it was a thrilling ride through a glowing, endless world where every second tested my reflexes. I still remember the rush of guiding that rolling ball down a neon track, heart pounding as the speed kept increasing with no mercy.
