It's the first day of 2020! A fresh start and clean slate! 2019 was truly an epic year for Rachel Moriarty Interiors. I am truly blessed that my business grows year over year but even more that I, through my business, also experience growth personally as well. Here's a look back at some of the the 2019 highlights!
TRAVEL
Boy, it sure is easy to burn out as a creative entrepreneur. It's so important that to unplug (as much as I can in this technology age), leave your laptop and your devices and experience the world and seek out inspiration. This year we travelled to the Yucatan in Mexico. It fuels my creative soul to see the textures, colors, lush jungles and Mayan history of the Yucatan. I'm enthralled by the way the colonial towns coexist with the native Mayan culture. I am definitely calling in more travel and experiences in 2020.
INDUSTRY TRADE SHOWS
I not only travelled to FIVE trade shows this year but I worked them in some capacity.
Winter Las Vegas Market.
The Modenus Designhounds Tour at KBIS - Kitchen & Bath Industry Show where I also got an opportunity to speak on Color on the KBIS NextStage. I also helped Elegant Mosaics launch The Color Lab.
Spring High Point Market where I designed a huge custom mosaic for the Zuo Modern Showroom and had the honor of being one of the IFDA (International Furnishings Design Association) Selects Judges.
Summer Las Vegas Market where I did a Style Takeover for the Twin Star Home Showroom.
Fall High Point Market where I was part of the Design Bloggers Tour and was also appointed one of the coveted spots as a 2020 Style Spotter.
MAGAZINE & TELEVISION FEATURES
I had the honor and privilege of being featured in several regional and national shelter magazines and industry publications. I also did podcast interviews.....and may have my own launching in 2020. I did video features as well as having 3 renovation projects featured on HGTV! Overall in 2019, there were over thirty features which results in great visibility and credibility for my small business.
COLLABORATIONS
I'm learning that "collaboration" is my love language! I have loved every single brand partnership that I had this year and every single one of them turned into a deep personal connection! Some of them were - Twin Star Home, Sunbrella Fabrics, Elegant Mosaics, Zuo Modern, thehome.com, iMayMedia, House Tipster and Be Outspoken (you'll be hearing much more about my collaboration with Be Outspoken in 2020)!
GIVING BACK
I had the privilege of designing a table (above) for the Dine For Design, charity event that benefited Savvy Giving By Design, an amazing non-profit that "rebuilds interior spaces for children and families facing a medical crisis to strengthen and encourage recovery", you can find out more about this incredible charitable organization HERE.
I also love mentoring my private Facebook Community of 2000 designers, decorators and stagers. My focus is to help and inspire them to muster the courage to get visible, show their credibility so that they can increase their profitability. I will continue with this mission in 2020.
MY BELOVED CLIENTS & PROJECTS
2019 blessed me with THE MOST INCREDIBLE CLIENTS and homes to transform! Yes, I am screaming that from the mountain tops! I admire my client's so much for the work they do in the world. I enjoy collaborating with them on their homes, vacation homes and offices. #grateful
