BUILDING A CUSTOM DESIGNED DESK AND STORAGE:

Collaborating with my client and my go-to custom cabinet maker, MDR - Modern Done Right Cabinetry, we chose a contemporary design approach with matte black and walnut finishes and a vertical slat wall detail. This combination not only exudes sophistication but also ensures durability and longevity.
INSTALLING OXYDE WHITE TILE FLOORS:
We removed the old carpet which had rippled with time and installed tile to create a clean and modern aesthetic. As with every project, I turned to my favorite tile distributor, Stone Systems, to help source gorgeous oxyde white tiles for the flooring. The tile we selected was inspired by urban design and contemporary architectural trends and evokes the glazed look of oxidized metals giving it depth. Oxyde white floors not only brightened up the space but also provided a versatile backdrop for the rest of the office's design elements.
PAINTING THE WALLS AND CEILING IN ALABASTER WHITE:
To further enhance the room's brightness and create a seamless look, we painted the walls and ceiling in Sherwin Williams Alabaster White. This classic choice adds a sense of tranquility to the space while maintaining an open and airy atmosphere.
MODERN AND SLEEK CUSTOM CLOSET DOORS:
Storage is a crucial aspect of any office space, so we decided to incorporate sleek custom closet doors from the Sliding Door Company that double as a whiteboard. Since my client is a fashionista, this modern closet provides ample space for organizing clothing and personal belongings while also offering a functional surface for brainstorming ideas or jotting down reminders.
COLORFUL ACCENTS AND VIBRANT ABSTRACT ART:
To infuse energy and personality into the home office, we added vibrant and colorful accents strategically throughout the space. These pops of color, combined with vibrant abstract art, create an inspiring backdrop for creativity and focus.
OPEN SHELVING FOR DISPLAYING BOOKS AND DÉCOR:
Open shelving is an excellent way to showcase books, collectibles, and stylish décor items. We incorporated carefully placed open shelves in the office which allowed me to curate a visually appealing display that reflects her interests and personality.
BIOPHILIA AND MULTI-FUNCTIONALITY:
Understanding the importance of biophilia, we added a variety of plants to create a connection with nature, fostering a sense of tranquility and well-being within the workspace. Additionally, this home office serves a dual purpose as my client's personal Pilates studio so we left plenty of floor space to ensure maximum functionality and making it a versatile space for body and mind.
