Spring has sprung at Rachel Moriarty Interiors! We have been busy behind the scenes pulling together projects for clients! This pandemic has increased our project load immensely but we're getting through it in style!
THE TEAM AKA: THE GLAM SQUAD
Let me introduce you to the women that help me make these reveals happen! From left to right: Fabi, helps with anything and everything! She is such a pleasure to have on stressful installation days, she works hard and is always cheerful. Treci of Treci Smith Designs, is my best friend and I pull her in on installations days. She has an amazing eye for styling and function and can actually think like me so it's like having a clone which is what I need! My secret weapon for outdoor living installations is the lady next to me in yellow aka: Mama King. Yes, that's my mom. She is as creative as I am but is an expert when it comes to plants, flowers and gardens! A skill that I don't have! She's 20 years older than me and is stronger and has more energy. You can see from her smile that she absolutely LOVES helping me with these types of projects! She loves to get her hands dirty in the potting soil! My clients love her and sometimes retain her to maintain the potted plants! Everyone needs a Mama King!

One great thing that happened in 2020 was that my firm was recognized by The Spruce for the BEST Instagram for Outdoor Living! I absolutely adore redesigning outdoor living spaces and this one was no exception!
Most designers love neutral shades but to me color adds a sense of energy and vibrancy! Here are some tips to get your outdoor living space up to par this summer!
This project is a major remodel and we are finally putting a pin in the construction phase, which means the Contractor turns the project over to me do get in and do my thang'! I focused on the outdoor living spaces now so that my clients can enjoy the outdoors with friends and family while we finish up the interiors. With this pandemic we have a lot of shipping issues and delays. It's nice to have some pulled together spaces during this time. I'm going to share how you can give your outdoor living space a bold makeover!
PICK OUTDOOR FABRICS IN VIBANT COLORS
My clients are super youthful and most of all they're a fun couple! Their home is a mediterranean style home that we are modernizing. I wanted to bring a Palm Springs vibe to this space with pop of colors like, turquoise, hot pink and yellow. I love how energetic and fun it feels now!
GIVE YOUR OUTDOOR FURNITURE A VIBRANT MAKEOVER
My clients already owned these cool vintage barstools but they were really faded and in need of some TLC. I refreshed them with four different paint colors and now they're one of my favorite things in this space! It completely updated the vibe of this outdoor bar area!
ADD A FUN VERTICAL GARDEN TOWER
My clients love to cook and wanted to have a vegetable garden. I added this Vertical Hydroponic Garden Tower. It's a self-watering, self-fertilizing farm stand! I love the scale and shape of these! You need to make sure that you have electricity nearby so that you can plug it into a timer but other than that it's really simple!
ACCESSORIZE WITH A FUNCTIONAL BAR CART
Nothing says fiesta like a well stocked outdoor bar cart! If it's on casters you can wheel it anywhere, even poolside like we did here! They're super functional too, I love to stock them with extra pool towels so that it's ready when guests come over for a dip in the pool!
