ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 7: SHE SHED PROJECT

Welcome to Week 7 of the One Room Challenge!

As a global citizen, witnessing so much devastation and cultural unrest in our country, it was so hard to focus on anything but the death of George Floyd (may he rest in paradise), grief of a nation, destruction, looting, fires, #blacklivesmatter, peaceful protests....and a global pandemic to top it off! This project has been a little bit of a distraction for me while I listen to design industry podcasts and podcasts on anti-racism. Life as we knew it has definitely shifted for good.

One Room Challenge Week 7 Progress report!

It was all hands on deck this week! I volunteered my husband and my daughter to help me with some new shelving. My daughter, India Rose, did the painting and my husband installed the shelving for me, then it was my turn.

I have a design showroom nearby that I use but I still have a lot of samples that I had gotten out of control and I needed to have them organized. My favorite find were the clear plastic tote bags that corral all of my loose memo, trim & wallpaper samples and paint chips. I was able to organize everything by color so I can find what I'm looking for when I need it.

I bet you didn't know that I am a #1 Amazon Best Selling author. I still have a small inventory of books and found the perfect home for them in this vintage purple storage piece.

I installed tension rods throughout the space so that I could organize larger rug samples and styling inventory like throw blankets and table runners and then added wall hooks for textiles.

I also added a couple of beverage stations so I don't have to go into the house to get caffeinated in the afternoon!

I'm excited to share the full project reveal with you next week!

Also, my new tasseled umbrella arrived too! How cute does it look with my new kathy Ireland® Homes & Gardens Madison Ave. 3 Piece Outdoor Collection by TK Classics for Twin Star Home. I can't thank them enough for their partnership and support!

ABOUT THE ONE ROOM CHALLENGE

The One Room Challenge, is currently in its seventeenth season, and in the design industry, this is a widely anticipated event every spring and fall. Each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge, as Featured Designers, and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over six weekly posts.

In addition to following along, everyone with a blog or Instagram account, is welcome to join the fun as a Guest Participant by linking their own room transformations up during the six weeks. Each Thursday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, ideas, and encouragement.

To date, more than 3,800 rooms have been transformed through the One Room Challenge. The event, and many of the spaces, have been recognized and featured.
