Anyone that knows me, KNOWS that I LOVE me a challenge! I am constantly running them in my Design+Style Facebook Community of designers! This time, I decided that it was time to jump into one that someone else was leading!
I was totally enamored and inspired by Old Brand New's One Room Challenge project last Fall found HERE. First of all, I had no idea that you could do a patio project, so when I saw the one that Old Brand New did, it was a full body YES! My patio as you will see had become a dumping ground. The place where we did our DIY home construction projects, the place where my husband stacked his wood pallets until he got around to chopping them up into kindling for the fire pit. It was also the place where I fixed up and repainted all of my vintage finds for myself and for clients and then ultimately it became the landing pad for our donation pile as we went through not one, but TWO rounds of decluttering!
For this challenge, I am going to take my patio from SLAB to FAB! These are the BEFORE photos that I took when I FINALLY decided that enough was enough! I decided that I was going to reclaim my outdoor space (and sanity)! Since I live in San Diego, it will be a space that we will use year round and it will provide additional square footage since our home has a small footprint.
My plan of attack for this outdoor space will be to furnish it with outdoor furnishings in a neutral palette and then to layer on the color, pattern, and plants and I plan to come in under $5,000, Wish me luck and check back each week as I walk you through the progress!
