ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 1: SHE SHED PROJECT

I didn't intend to participate in the One Room Challenge this spring but since I've been sharing a lot of Instagram Stories from my backyard and have gotten a lot of inquiries about my She Shed and even requests for a tour! Eeeeek!

My husband built this She Shed for me at the end of last year because we were simply running out of space in the house for my samples and/or inventory when I'm preparing to install a clients design project.

I was fortunate to be able to partner with RRPC Inc, Ron Rice Painting & Consulting, my go to paint contractor to repaint it.....I couldn't bear it in it's original brown glory. I'll share those photos next week. That's where I stopped. Since then, I've used it as a dumping ground and it's just what you would think the inside of a shed is.....kind of a hot mess.

This is going to be a perfect opportunity for me to focus on organizing all of my samples and let's face it.....junk because it's become the land of the misfit toys in there. I'm going to finish painting the interior details, add storage solutions, create a colorful feature wall, add electrical and lighting, organized fabric samples and tools of the trade, declutter and decorate. Wish me luck and see you next week!

ABOUT THE ONE ROOM CHALLENGE

The One Room Challenge, is currently in its seventeenth season, and in the design industry, this is a widely anticipated event every spring and fall. Each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge, as Featured Designers, and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over six weekly posts.

In addition to following along, everyone with a blog or Instagram account, is welcome to join the fun as a Guest Participant by linking their own room transformations up during the six weeks. Each Thursday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, ideas, and encouragement.

To date, more than 3,800 rooms have been transformed through the One Room Challenge. The event, and many of the spaces, have been recognized and featured.
